PULL UP A CHAIR, LIGHT A TORCH
We are an indie tabletop and board games studio born in the flickering candlelight of forgotten basements, scrawling sketchbooks, and ideas born in the quiet hours of early mornings. Whether you're diving into ancient ruins or auctioning off contraband across borders, our games are built for stories you won’t forget.
Our studio is dedicated to creating rich, replayable worlds with a touch of mystery, strategy, and sketchbook soul.
Founded by game designers with a love for world-building, grit, and the art of the perfect dice roll, we believe every session should feel like a legendary night in a board game basement that you'll never find again.
GAME DESIGNERS
"I've been making games for as long as I can remember—sketching out card abilities on notebook paper and building trading card games just for the thrill of it (shoutout Worlds at War!!). From chaotic deck builders to structured lane battlers, designing mechanics and worlds has always been my favorite way to play."
"I've always loved playing games, from late-night strategy sessions to quick party games with friends, and that passion naturally grew into designing them. While studying at the University of Notre Dame, I served as Co-President of the Board Game Club, where I helped build a vibrant community of board game players. I bring that same enthusiasm and love for thoughtful design to every project I work on."
Data Strategists
"As our resident Data Strategist, I oversee the design of game mechanics that are both deliberately rich and mathematically sound. With a background in applied mathematics and game theory from the University of Notre Dame, I ensure every roll, draw, and move is carefully balanced to maximize fairness and replayability; my work bridges creativity and precision, turning abstract models into engaging, real-world gameplay. Whether developing scoring systems or probability engines, I help transform numbers into fun."
Consultants
"I’m all about being a team player and making sure things run smoothly at Basement Bar Gaming. I’m not afraid to do what needs to get done, whether that means jumping into the action or helping others stay on track. I love helping organize ideas, creating prototypes, and structuring playtests to bring our games to life. I like putting in the work so everyone can have a good time and bring their best."
"Growing up playing board games, cards, and Bananagrams with my nonna, I developed a love for connection. This led me to enjoy gathering with friends around a shared goal to complete a game. As a naturally creative person, working on this project has given me the chance to explore imaginative worlds, build compelling narratives, and help design an experience that brings people together in fun, meaningful ways.
ARTISTS
"Creativity has always been my superpower, and with that, I have been able to combine my various skills with my multitude of passions to create projects that speak volumes. I have grown to love the realm of art and storytelling, and being a part of game design allows me to explore that world even further.
I am beyond thrilled to be working alongside one of my longest and closest friends, and I cannot wait to create art for current and future game ideas that are truly enthralling. "
